Field-of-view simulator

See the shot before you mount the lens.

Pick a body, pick the glass, add a booster or a squeeze. focalcomp frames the exact field of view on one fixed reference plate — so a lens swap is a decision, not a gamble.

Reference Plate 01 — fixed test scene
How it reads
01 Body The sensor sets the canvas. Super 16 to full frame, 2012 Blackmagic cult bodies to open-gate ARRI — each one crops the world differently.
02 Glass Focal length sets the angle. Adapters and speed boosters bend it. Anamorphic squeeze stretches it sideways. focalcomp resolves the whole chain.
03 Frame Every build renders on Reference Plate 01 — the same fixed scene, every time. Compare a boosted vintage 50 against a native 35 in one glance.
Method

No renders, no guesswork — plain projection geometry. Every frame is 2·atan(sensor / 2f′), mapped onto a plate shot at 12mm full frame.

The math, the assumptions, and the honest limitations are documented in the Notes.
